North Chapter of Anatomists Society was founded in 2001 by a group of Anatomists under the pioneering leadership of Dr. Subhash Kaushal and Dr. P.V.V. Gopichand to encourage the anatomists of the
region for the academic feasts. Under their leadership, the first meet of North Indian
Anatomists Federation (NIAF) was held in 2001 at Government Medical College,
Patiala with 26 members. It was renamed as North States Chapter of Anatomical
Society of India (NSCASI) in 2006. And the first meeting of NSCASI was again, held
at GMC Patiala, in 2007. Thereafter, the CME was held every year. NSCASI has
now been renamed as North Chapter of Anatomists Society (NCAS) under the
societies Act of 1860 with a registration number of 203 of 2017-18.
Now the number of Life Members has increased to more than 170. The members are
from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and
Uttarakhand.
